Ceramics-Winter mug

All levels are welcomed for this Ceramics workshop-Winter mugs. Whether for coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, create a pair of clay mugs to warm you up on those days as the weather turns chilly. You will work with clay slabs, and learn to construct, texture, and decorate the clay to make two of your functional pieces of art. Chosen from many glazes. We glaze your artwork and participants can come back to pick them up. All supplies and materials will be provided.
No experience necessary!

Macrame

Hey Macrame!
Dragonfly Gallery invites you to learn the mindful art of macrame by creating plant hangers with teaching artist Jess Cadwell. Macrame by definition is the art of knotting cord repetitively to create decorative items. It’s a wonderful practice for slowing down, unwinding, and enjoying the present moment. We will explore fundamental knots and methods of experimentation to create unique pieces within the same framework. Participants will be awed by their final results to decorate their cozy home spaces.

Fused Glass

Get creative with jewelry!
Award-winning fused glass artist, Kat Huddleston, will guide you through the step-by-step process of creating dichroic fused glass jewelry. From beginning students to advanced, you'll learn how to cut and break glass, and necklaces and earrings. Students will a couple sets of jewelry, which will then be fired, bails will be attached, and they can be picked up a week later. The perfect class for singles, doubles and all groups. And there's one rule... You will have fun!

Dying to Dye

Dying to Dye: Dragonfly Gallery invites you to learn vibrant fabric dyeing techniques as an exploration in sustainability and self-expression with teaching artist Jess Cadwell. In this class we will explore tie dye, immersion, and ice dye techniques to decorate old and new cotton fabrics. Materials will be provided but we encourage participants to bring 1-3 small pre-washed items to revitalize! Think about old t-shirts, cloth napkins, or tote bags as options to renew and personalize. Fabric must be 100% cotton to dye correctly!

Bookbinding

Book Binding: Dragonfly Gallery invites you to learn the fundamentals of printmaking and bookbinding with teaching artist Jess Cadwell. In this multidisciplinary class we will learn the basics of cover design with block printing as decoration, followed by simple binding techniques such as the pamphlet stitch. With these skills you’ll never need to buy a notebook again.

Sip 'N Paint Pour Painting
Let's get creatively abstract
Award-winning artist, Kat Huddleston, will guide you through the step-by-step process of using acrylic paints to create an abstract painting filled with color and cool textures. From beginning students to advanced, you'll learn the fun of playing with paint, while moving paint around to make an interesting design. Students will get one 9x12" canvas, and will be able to take their painting home that night. The perfect class for singles, doubles and all groups. And there's one rule... You will have fun!

Weaving

Frame Loom Weaving
In this class we will create small weavings on frame looms. We will draw out our designs and experiment with different tapestry weaving techniques and everyone will leave with a finished woven work!

Fused Glass Ornaments

Students will create two ornaments, which will then be fired, a bail will be applied and they can be picked up a week later. The perfect class for singles, doubles and all groups. And there's one rule... You will have fun!

Paper making

In this class we will repurpose paper to make our own unique paper. You will learn how to measure, pulverize, and layout unique paper designs. Students will leave with a least three sheets of custom made paper at the end of class.

Indigo Dyeing

In this class we will learn how to make an indigo vat and dye fabric using a variety of shibori techniques. Everyone will leave with at least one indigo-dyed handkerchief.
